Doom has never been long on story and plot development, and Williams,
who ported the game to the PSX, hasn’t changed anything. You’re a lone
space marine, starting out with just a pistol and fists of steel, and
you’re up against hordes of demons, imps, zombies, and plenty of other
nasty things who want to turn the land of the living into their own
personal playground. Diplomacy won’t do a whole lot of good here, so
you’ve got to just shoot everything in sight, and there’s a bevy of
powerful weapons and ammo laying around to help you out. All of the
weapons from the PC versions are here, from the chainsaw, which has
never sounded better, to the beloved BFG 9000.
