Courier Crisis (E) ISO
Description :
You would never be caught wearing blue shorts and black socks, and just
the thought of going from house to house gives you the hives. Your
biggest enemy is the clock, not the dog at 502 Maple Drive. You're the
person who gets the call when the post office fails. You are the bicycle
courier of the concrete jungle. Pick up your package and make the
delivery within the time limit. Getting to the delivery site requires
punching and kicking pedestrians out of the way and taking crazy jumps
over the traffic. When the package gets there on time, you will earn big
money to upgrade your bike. With over 250 deliveries in five different
cities, there is plenty of money to be had. Do you have the skills to
navigate the asphalt island? Play COURIER CRISIS and find out.
You are the anti-mailman. A
slacker courier with a goatee and a BMX-rated attitude. A psycho bike
messenger thrashing through the concrete jungle. Pummel pedestrians. Rip
stunts. Earn cash. Deliver the goods. And don't be late.
There was Pac Man who spawned off a few clones such as 3D Maze Man.
There then was Froger who influenced Zapper. Then we have Space Invaders
which inspired every game of its kind. When Paperboy came out, it was
amazing, the gaming people finished their Ms. Pac Man and womens rights
campaign and Papergirl was born. However, after all these ears, the
boffins created an awful version of Paperboy 64. Courier Crisis is the
answer to paperboy on the Playstation, it has the idea of Paperboy but
is set in a Grand Theft Auto violent world.
OI! OVER HERE!
BMG, The makers behind both Courier Crisis and Grand Theft Auto created several living cities in the game which would easily give Grand Theft Auto III's Liberty City a run for its gangster money. There are several towns, each walled in and you, on a bike must go against the clock cycling around these cities running people over, punching them whilst riding past, getting knocked over by the local cars and of course, picking things up from people and giving them to another for a spot of money, once you have enough money you buy a better bike, the fastest of which can only be used in an alien territory. Scary stuff!
The bike which the teenager is on is quite easily to control, you get to know the city when not colledcting time bonuses, you can explore to your hearts content. It is a shame that each city area is set out different, but always looks the same, it has the same type of buildings and shops, Courier Crisis becomes a little bit repetitive.
After you have completed the third or so area of Courier Crisis, you will become bored, there is not enough to do and only getting and testing out your new bikes is decent, and earning the super bike will take you weeks of work and practice at least, the game becomes too hard near the end, the later levels involve San Fransisco streets, getting to one side of the town to the other for just about every thing you need to deliver, and the noises don't help to much either.
For its age, Courier Crisis does look a pretty penny, not as good as Grand Theft Auto III but it is one of the best looking games on the Playstation 1, if this was released on the Playstation 2 with better graphics and improved gameplay, it would be a masterpiece, it is a shame that BMG created State of Emergency instead. Oh well. I recommend Courier Crisis for those who are a fan of Paperboy and games like Grand Theft Auto, it is good fun for awhile.
