Blue Forest Story - Kaze no Fuuin (J) ISO

Description :

Blue Forest Story: Kaze no Fuuin is a Role-Playing game, developed by MBA International and published by Right Stuff, which was released in Japan in 1996.

this game was originally made for the 3DO with the simple name of Blue Forest Monogatari. While we own it, we've yet to discern any major differences between the two other than the openings. The 3DO opening has a naked woman that was removed from the Playstation game. Developed by Right Stuff, who are probably best known for Alnam no Kiba, Flash Hiders and this, we've strangely gotten a small fascination with this developer. But, to say their work has an acquired taste is an understatement.

Like a lot of the games Right Stuff has made, nature and spirits play an important role in the overall theme of the game. You'll have to forgive me on the summary of the game, as I haven't picked it up (sans today) for quite some time and I've almost completely forgotten what the heck I was even doing in this game.

Basically, you can choose between two chosen heroes, a male, Varuerusu (...Valelse? or "Val" for short as a nickname from others) and a female, Rakujitto (Maybe Rakjeet? They have some crazy names), who have their own perspective on the story and constantly cross paths and fight together. However, the real character of importance here is Val, who has a demonic force sealed within himself that he doesn't know how to control. He travels from land to land trying to find out about his origins, destiny, and why there are people who would seek to harm his friends and family. Along the way, you'll get involved in A LOT of RPG filler, so enjoy fighting whenever you can.

This game is not one of Right Stuff's better works, but it has one or two peculiar elements that make it stand out, and it's a pretty old Playstation RPG. The main thing of any interest is how battles are played out. Characters have different fighting stances that invoke different abilities, and they can become more proficient with a style as the game progresses. For what it's worth, attacks and the like are interesting and the pacing of battles is acceptable. Overall however, this game may seem too bland and mundane for casual RPGers. Enjoy.
