Donald Duck - Goin' Quackers [U] ISO

Donald Duck - Goin' Quackers [U] ISO

Description :

Disney's Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers is a Fantasy Action Adventure game, developed by Ubisoft Shanghai and published by Ubisoft, which was released in 2000.

Gameplay

Goin' Quackers's gameplay is very similar to that of Crash Bandicoot, and requires the player to move through various settings in 24 levels in 4 warp rooms. The 4 level themes are a forest theme, a city theme (presumably Duckburg), a haunted house theme, and an Ancient Egyptian/Aztec temple. Donald Duck has to dodge various enemies and obstacles throughout the levels and defeat bosses at the end of each warp room. There are also bonus levels where Donald Duck has to outrun a bear, a car, a dismembered hand, and a Moai statue, respectively. The viewpoint of the levels change from a 2D side-scrolling perspective to a 3D perspective. Re-doing the levels in order to defeat Gladstone's time in same, gives the player advantages in the game.
The player has a limited number of lives that can increase by finding special items. Each live gives Donald two opportunities to be touched by the enemy, the first time is touched he became angry and throws berserk to the enemies, the second time, he loses a life. Donald also can get suits to move around the scenes and also some animations can be done if the player stops moving Donald (such as Donald taking photos of the place if he is dressed like a tourist).

The Divide - Enemies Within [U] ISO

The Divide - Enemies Within [U] ISO

Description :
The Divide: Enemies Within is an Action game, developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Viacom New Media, which was released in 1996.
The Basics:
For people out there wondering what a 3D Metroid would be like if the series decided to go third person instead of first person, this game is for you. Otherwise, it's a widely overlooked gem, despite is lack of originality. You can probably get this game really cheap, which boosts its appeal. But if you HATE Metroid, avoid this game at all costs.
For those of you still who are still with me:
If you have played Metroid, you have played this game. The only real change is the gameplay is now in 3D and is not first person like Metroid Prime. Bascially, you travel to different lands (fire, forest, desert, ice, etc.) to collect power-ups, fight bosses to progress the game.
There is a story but it really is more of a distraction and is a little confusing. Basically, you are exploring a planet that your technology has changed. Your partner gets kidnapped and you become frozen for an indeterminable amount of time. After thawing you, decide to seek your partner... I know it's "save the princess" with a few changes. But it's about on par with "defeat the Mother Brain," so it's okay.
The graphics are bad, but not unbearable. The game does provide the illusion that you are on an alien world that is becoming transformed (somehow) by your technology. Your ultimate quest is to collect the probes you launched to the planet, which the bosses have. This is where the game really falls apart. You collect most the probes at the end of the game, which means this game was incomplete (can anyone say XIII?). But since this is a largely unknown title, you can probably tell the budget was not high for this game, so it is forgivable. Also, don't let this fool you, the game isn't short; it just is clear it was never completed. You will get plenty of gameplay to complete it and even more if you want to collect all the power-ups.
The controls are very responsive. Aiming at flying creatures is a little difficult, but manageable. There is no auto-aim (like Metroid Prime, which made the game a little too easy), the aiming is more akin to Super Metroid, where you can aim up and down by increments of 45 degrees (or Pi radians for any Math geeks out there).
This game is out there for anyone who likes a challenge. A few notable extra challenges that were not in the Metroid series: you slide initially on ice; you cannot roll into a ball; you start the game limping; there is no "hint system;" some enemies/bosses can be downright cruel; and some of your weapons actually use ammo (this feature was only implemented in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes recently (I wonder if they played this game)).
The biggest flaw is the time it takes to load as you travel between lands. And since the game is a freeroaming game, you have to do this a lot.
If you are a fan of Metroid and cannot wait till your next fix, play this game; it will help take off the edge. It really shows you where Metroid COULD have gone if they decided to go third person and it's not at all bad. This game is fun and addictive. It is by far my favorite PS1 game, which says a lot. It just has a few initial flaws which keeps me from giving it a higher rating. Also, you can probably get this game for DIRT cheap. It's worth far more than anyone sells it. I got my copy on EBay and have never turned back.

Disney's Toy Story 2 - Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue ISO

Disney's Toy Story 2 - Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue ISO

Description :

As space hero Buzz Lightyear, you've got your hands full. Your best buddy, Woody, has been kidnapped by a greedy toy collector and it's going to be an all-out race against time to save him.

Everybody loves Toy Story. It has been hailed as one of the best animated films of all time. A few years after its release, Toy Story 2 was released. A game was based on it, and that game has proven itself to be of a much higher quality than several movie-based games that are currently being produced. This game has it all: an engaging storyline, easy controls, good sound and graphics for its time, and large, unique levels. Toy Story 2 set the standard for film-based games, and many games released on the latest generation of consoles fell beneath that bar.

Storyline:

Let's start off with the storyline. This game's story is based on the film that it is named for. Woody is a toy cowboy who lives with his owner, a child named Andy. Andy owns several other toys as well, including Buzz Lightyear and Mr. Potatohead. Woody is taken by a toy collector, who, with his possession of Woody, has finally completed a full set of cowboy related dolls. Buzz Lightyear leads a group of Andy's toys on a journey to rescue Woody.

Story:10/10

Pros: Engaging and interesting

Cons: None, at least that I can think of

Gameplay:

Ah, the gameplay. The most important part of the game. This game's gameplay has not dropped in quality, even when compared to the games of today. Although they outshine this game in terms of graphics due to the progression of technology, they still cannot beat how much fun this game is.

During this game you play as Buzz Lightyear. You can use his laser gun and a few other cool moves that help you get pass several obstacles and defeat the little bad guys that are lurking around in the game.. The gameplay revolves around progressing through the levels and collecting tokens. While the premise of collecting tokens sounds monotonous, it is pulled off well. You must complete a challenging task to earn a token. Many of these require planning and brainpower to finish, while others simply require a good understanding of the level. There is a level boss in each level that requires a strategy to defeat. If you manage to defeat one of these bosses, you will earn a token. Other methods of collecting tokens include finding Little Bo Peep's lost sheep, destroying a large amount of rogue toys (not bosses), and beating an RC car in a race around a track.

After acquiring several of these tokens, you can move on to the next stage, which will be a little more difficult than the once before. In between every couple levels is a more difficult boss. You will need to figure out the boss's weakness in order to take it down and progress past it. One example of this is shooting down a toy airplane with your laser gun while it flies around you.

Gameplay: 10/10

Pros: Good diversity
Very large and fun levels
Requires strategy
Buzz Lightyear is a fun character to use
Challenging, but not too challenging, perfect difficulty

Cons: If you don't like collecting at all, this might not be the right game for you

Graphics/Sound:

PlayStation graphics usually aren't that great. They are usually choppy and ugly. Toy Story 2, however, showed that it was possible to give good graphics to a PlayStation game. Sure, it isn't perfect, but it is certainly better than the vast majority of PlayStation games. Some places look kind of flat and bland, but the developers did a nice job as a whole.

One cool aspect of the graphics is if you go into first-person mode, you will be able to see the reflection of Buzz's face in the glass. It's not really a big deal, but it was a nice touch.
Now, for the sound. The voices are very nice and clear, although sometimes a few phrases will become repetitive. The music is great and fits each level well. The sound effects also sound good.

Graphics/Sound: 8/10

Pros: Good graphics as a whole
Great music, acceptable sound effects and voice acting

Cons: Some objects look weird and boring
Some phrases can get a little stale

Replayability:

There's not much to say about this, other that I have been playing this for around nine years, picking it up every now and then, and this game still entertains me. Play this game as you would drink a fine wine: savor the test, taking sips once in a little while. This won't get stale, and the challenge makes it last.

Replayability: 10/10

Pros: Has aged well

Cons: None

Final Recommendation:

If you can find this game, I highly recommend that you buy it. This game is one of the best games to be released on the PlayStation, and you will be missing out if you don't play it. You may have some difficulty finding it, though.
