Command & Conquer - Red Alert ISO

Command & Conquer - Red Alert ISO

Description :

Command & Conquer Red Alert gives you the opportunity to be more devious, cunning and ruthless than ever before. Easy to play and highly addictive. Red Alert puts the fate of the world in your hands.

Command and Conquer is a very popular and well known game on the PC and the makers also converted it to Playstation, like many popular PC games. I had never played it on the PC before, but I had only heard and read about, so the game was almost completely new to my. I didn’t even knew it also existed on the Playstation, so I was pretty amazed to see the game in the Playstation section. It was on sale, so I thought “what the heck, let’s see if it’s as good as they say.” The back of the game said it had over two dozen missions and many kinds of weapons, so it had more than enough things to do.

The graphics 6/10

The graphics are quite bad in this game, it all runs in a very LOW resolution. Your troops, buildings and the environment all look very ugly, but it’s all recognizable thought. Personally I think they used a low resolution to prevent slowdown, the Playstation isn’t that powerful, remember...

The sound 8/10

The sound is quite good: just as they said on the back of the game, the soundtracks are very cool and fit the game just right, there is some march music, for example.
The sound effects aren’t so special but they work, it just gets a bit annoying when the troops keep saying the same sentence over and over again. The music rocks and the effects are nothing special.

Gameplay 8/10

The controls are very good and easy to learn, even with a controller they still work good. The missions are fun to play and there are many missions for both sides: The Soviet and the Allies both have about a dozen of missions. You can also play skirmish missions, where you can set all the options to your likeness. The missions take quite long to complete (except the first missions), so it keeps you busy for quite a long time.

Replay 8/10

The missions should keep you busy for quite a while and when you’ve finished those you can still play the skirmish missions or you can play it against one of your friends via a link cable.

Overall 8/10 (actually 7.6/10)

It may look bad, but it sounds good and it plays good as well. It also has a long durability, which I think is very important. But if you find the graphics really important, you won’t like it. It may not be the best of its kind, but it sure is a good one. It keeps his reputation pretty high, well done!
